A Zetas drug cartel leader and his son are behind bars after being arrested by Mexican soldiers south of the border in Zacatecas.
Mexican soldiers arrested Teofilo Rocha-Villalobos and his son Teofilo Rocha-Marin in Guadalupe, Zacatecas on Friday.
Mexico's Ministry of National Defense (SEDENA) confirmed the arrests on Monday morning.
SEDENA officials reported that soldiers out on patrol arrested Rocha-Villalobos and his son.
The two men remain in custody where they are facing federal criminal charges.
SEDENA officials reported that Rocha-Villalobos is believed to be the Zetas drug cartel plaza boss for Matamoros, Coahuila.
