Authorities have filed a second set of molestation charges against a Brownsville middle school teacher after new allegations against him came to light.

Brownsville police arrested 49-year-old Juan Luis Urbano at his East 22nd Street home on an indecency with a child charge on Thursday.

Investigators said Urbano is accused of molesting a 14-year-old girl.

The allegations came light on Wednesday just one day after Harlingen police reported arresting Urbano in a separate child molestation investigation.

In the Harlingen case, Urbano is accused of molesting a teenage girl in the parking lot of a discount movie theater.

Brownsville ISD officials confirmed that Urbano taught 8th grade social studies at Cummings Middle School.

School district officials put Urbano on administrative leave but also stated he has not returned to work since surrendering to Harlingen police on Tuesday.

Family members contacted Action 4 News that the second case filed against Urbano was made by the parents of the same girl in the Harlingen case but for another incident that happened in Brownsville.
