Authorities are reporting that a missing elderly woman has been found in the Southmost area of Brownsville.
Rescuers report that Cayetana Hernandez was found off Alaska and Oklahoma Roads early Friday morning.
U.S. Border Patrol officials told Action 4 News that agents were patrolling the area for illegal activity but found the 81-year-old woman lying on the road.
The agents recognized Hernandez by her description and immediately offered help.
Border Patrol officials said Hernandez appeared to be disoriented and dehydrated but requested medical attention.
Paramedics took the 81-year-od grandmother to a local hospital for evaluation.
Family members told Action 4 News that they last saw Hernandez leaving her daughter's home off off Westland Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.
Hernandez's daughter said her mother drove off in her grey Buick Century and had been headed to Sunrise Mall.
She had never made it to the mall prompting her family to file a missing persons report with the Brownsville police.
It's not clear what happened to Hernandez on her way to Sunrise Mall. Authorities have not found her car.
