Missing Illinois man made last phone call in the Valley
Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding a missing Illinois man who made his last phone call in the Rio Grande Valley.
The family of 40-year-old Eric Walleck reported him missing last week but could be in McAllen.
Walleck told family members that masked men came into his apartment on Saturday and threatened him.
According to the Fox Lake Police Department, family members told investigators that the Ingleside, Illinois man suffers from mental problems.
Family members found the door to Walleck's apartment unlocked and his car was still in the parking lot.
A relative told police that she received a call from Walleck asking for bus fare on Wednesday morning but he was never heard from again.
Investigators told Action 4 News that detectives able to determine that the call was made from a pay phone in McAllen but were unable to determine the address.
Walleck is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes. He has tattoos on both shoulders and his right forearm.
