Mission police continue to search for a suspect in the shooting death of a man on the city's northside.
Investigators said the drive-by shooting took place just north of Mission High School at 22nd street and Joanna Avenue on Tuesday night.
Police said the victim was talking to another persons when a car rolled by and somebody inside opened fire.
The vehicle fled the scene and police arrived only to find the victim on the sidewalk.
Mission Assistant Police Chief Martin Garza said the witness was taken in for questioning but the suspect remains at large.
"We do know that there's possibly a small passenger vehicle that's involved in this incident where allegedly the victim was called out to the street while he was in a conversation with one of his friends here at this residence, and at that point there was a person who pulled out a weapon and shot once towards the victim," Garza said.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Mission Crime stoppers Hotline at (956) 581-TIPS or (956) 581-8477.
