Mission mother fights off home invasion suspects

Police are investigating a home invasion in Mission where a man, woman and little boy were inside the home.

The invasion happened Sunday night at a home on the 3300 block of North Stuart Ave.

According to Mission police, several men pulled up to the home in a white car earlier that evening.

A man got out to knock on the door and asked the homeowners if they would like to buy marijuana.

When they declined, the suspects drove off.

The men returned around 12:40 a.m. and stormed into the house wearing ski masks. One suspect had on a bullet proof vest and was carrying a shotgun.

Police said the male homeowner was sleeping in the living room while another woman and her son were in a nearby bedroom.

The suspects hit the man in the head with the handgun and told the little boy to keep his hands behind his back and lay down, according to police.

Officials said the mother started to hit and punch the suspects.

They sat her down asking her to give them drugs.

When she said the family did not have drugs, the men fled from the scene.

Police said thy took the family TMs television, jewelry and a Samsung Galaxy phone.

The case is still under investigation. Police have surveillance footage from inside and outside of the home.
