Mission mother jailed after lying about robbery

      A Mission mother is behind bars for theft and giving police false information about a robbery.

      The alleged robbery happened at the Economy Drive Inn at 115 N. Conway Avenue.

      According to authorities, Alyssa De La Garza told Mission police that a man wearing a ski mask robbed the drive in Tuesday at 10:30 p.m.

      The alleged robber grabbed and slammed the 23-year-old TMs head into the cash register.

      De La Garza told police that the man stole $1,382.

      According to authorities, they looked at the store TMs surveillance footage and the alleged robber was not wearing a ski mask.

      Mission police told Action 4 News they arrested De La Garza Thursday at 11:10 p.m. on 6803 N. Bentson Road.

      Mission police charged the mother of three with theft and tampering with evidence.

      A judge arraigned De La Garza Friday afternoon.

      A bond of $60,000 was set for the 23-year-old.

      Investigators are looking for a male suspect involved with the incident.
