Mistrial declared after McAllen murder case ends with hung jury

Victim: Rudolfo Delgado

A state district court judge has declared a mistrial after a McAllen murder case ended with hung jury.

Alicia Delgado has been on trial before Judge Roberto "Bobby" Flores in the 139th State District Court.

Delgado is accused of killing her father Rudolfo Delgado during a July 2013 domestic disturbance.

The McAllen woman maintains her innocence claiming self-defense.

Delgado's murder trial started last week but jurors heard closing arguments on Tuesday.

Jurors returned on Wednesday morning saying they could not reach a unanimous verdict.

Judge Flores declared a mistrial.

Delgado will have to go to trial again but it's not clear when that new trial will take place.
