More disturbing child porn images found on former doctor's computer

Harlingen Police along with U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement agents discovered thousands of disturbing images on former San Benito Dr. Jody Morse Griswold's computer.

Harlingen Police Sgt. David Osborne said they depict, children - boys and girls - ranging in ages maybe 8 to 12.

Investigators found at least 40 child pornography videos as well as erotica pictures, or pictures of children wearing lingerie and in inappropriate positions.

"Our investigators are still working with (I.C.E.) officers to try to determine who these children are depicted in these videos, Osborne said. We do believe that there's a possibility that some of these children are (engaging in sexual activity) with the suspect."

But some who know Griswold, his wife and 7-year-old daughter refuse to believe the accusations against him.

They told Action 4 News, the family has gone through rough times in recent years, but claim Griswold is not the type of person to commit such a crime. They add they need substantial evidence to believe the accusations.

Police said the investigation is far from over and are currently gathering as much evidence as possible.

"We are looking at all avenues of how he got in contact with these children, Osborne said. He could've traveled somewhere and made contact with them somewhere outside our region - at this point we're not sure." According to the Texas Medical Board website, Griswold's medical license was revoked in 2003 for inability to practice medicine due to illness or substance abuse.

He applied for relicensing in 2010, but that had not been granted.

Another neighbor that Action 4 News spoke to is not surprised by Griswold's arrest. She described him as "creepy."

She said Griswold also had an apartment in Progresso, Mexico because he was teaching a medical profession there.

According to the case affidavit, he also has a property on Landrum Road in San Benito. Police do not know yet if the videos and pictures were filmed on Griswold's properties, or if they were downloaded from the Internet.

"Based on his profession in the past, (and) based on who he may have had contact with, we're not sure how far back this goes, Osborne said. We are searching all avenues to determine how many victims may be out there, (and) to what extent was his involvement."
