Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue to develop throughout the day as tropical moisture funnels in from the Gulf of Mexico.
We have already seen a steady stream of rain developing in the Gulf, and it is expect to push inland to the northwest and continue through the afternoon.
Some pockets of heavy downpours, lightning, and gusty winds can be expected with the heaviest storms.
Cloud cover will also prevail, allowing temperatures to remain in only the upper 80 TMs to right around 90 for the day.
Reduced visibility, some ponding on roadways, and even minor nuisance flooding may occur in areas that get the most rain. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution.
The National Weather Service in Brownsville issued a flood advisory for souther Cameron County through 10:45 a.m. Monday.
