A Brownsville mother has been charged with child endangerment after leaving four children home alone with her 14-year-old nephew on Saturday.
Cameron County Sheriff TMs Department got a phone call around 11:30 p.m. about children being alone at an apartment complex on the 2600 block of Carlos Ave.
When a deputy arrived, he found the 14-year-old with two 10-year-old TMs, a 6-year-old and a 11-year-old.
The teen said that his aunt, Virginie Macias, had left the apartment but he did not know where she was or what time she left.
The deputy called Macias and found out that she had gone to the Chaparal Night Club.
Macias said she had left to the club around 9:30 p.m. and put her nephew in charge of watching the kids.
She remains in the Cameron County Jail , where U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have filed a detainer.
