A Brownsville mother is facing criminal charges after she allegedly left her child and her baby inside the car while inside a welfare office.
Brownsville police arrested 40-year-old Silvia Mar Garcia on two counts of child endangerment late Thursday afternoon.
Investigators told Action 4 News that officers were called out to the Garden Plaza WIC Office off Wild Rose Lane and Expressway 77/83.
A passerby told police that a young child and a baby were inside a car parked outside the Women, Infants & Children office.
Officers arrived and found a 7-year-old child and 14-month-old baby inside the hot car.
Police arrested Garcia at the scene.
Garcia faced a Brownsville Municipal Court judge on Friday morning but bond information was not immediately available.
