A McAllen mother is out on bond after her 2-year-old son got out of a house full of people and was found wandering next to a busy street.
McAllen police booked 35-year-old Elizabeth Martinez into the Hidalgo County Jail on one count of child endangerment on Thursday.
Court records obtained by Action 4 News show that the incident happened on the 900 block of North McColl Road back on March 17th.
A woman found the toddler walking alone next to the busy roadway.
Police learned that Martinez was home with her mother and her four other children at the time.
The McAllen mother allegedly told police that she was cooking and speaking to the plumber when she saw the toddler walk out the door.
Martinez told police that she thought her mother or 18-year-old were supposed to be watching the 2-year-old boy.
Court records show that Martinez lost track of her 6-year-old daughter back in February during an incident where she thought the girl went to a friend's house but was actually with a completely different friend.
Hidalgo County Jail records show that Martinez was released after posting a $10,000 personal recognizance bond.
