Mother of 'miracle baby' laid to rest

Mother laid to rest

A funeral was held on Monday for the pregnant woman killed in a deadly car accident.

Niser Anahe Saldana gave birth to her child before dying early Friday morning.

The 19-year-old was scheduled to have a C-section on Monday, but the car accident caused her to give birth to her daughter on the side of the road.

Saldana, her boyfriend and her 2-year-old daughter were heading home from South Padre Island when a car accident threw her from her car.

A good Samaritan held Saldana as she gave birth to her daughter through a laceration on her stomach.

Baby Emma Lyn is currently in stable condition at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.

As loved ones said their final goodbyes, family members told Action 4 News Saldana was a great mother who was planning on attending college.

The family is in need of financial assistance to pay for the funeral.

Anyone who would like to help is encouraged to contact Julian Saldana at 309-6569.
