Delia told Action 4 News that she and her family have been through a lot in the last month.
They lost their home to a fire back in January, had to move in with her parents, and then this---her 14-year-old son has been accused of aggravated sexual assault.
It is something Delia never imagined would ever happen.
"It's very hard to take, Delia said through tears. I would have never expected something like this from my son. It's just some really hard news to take."
While the news might be hard to take---it is serious and something that could change the 14-year-old TMs life forever.
"That's like ruining my child's name. Especially when he didn't do anything wrong. It's really painful," Delia said.
The teen is accused of holding two young children at knife point and raping them. It is a crime, Delia said, her son has denied committing since the first day the accusations were brought up.
"He wouldn't do it and he's telling me he didn't do it, Delia said. There is something---my mother instinct telling me he didn't do it."
But the accusations are there and now the teen is in the juvenile detention center.
His freshman year and dreams of playing football are put on hold.
He is confined behind cement walls and is only able to talk to his mother twice a week.
Delia knows that her son is innocent and said she will do whatever it takes to clear his name.
"I have to defend my son the best that I can. I have to do everything that I can to defend my son."
The teen will be back in court on Friday.
