A young man accused of killing a Brownsville museum director has been declared competent to stand trial.
Ernest Ivan Martinez appeared in before Judge Elia Cornejo-Lopez in the 404th state District Court on Thursday morning.
Martinez is accused in the murder of Brownsville Museum of Fine Arts Director Barry Horn back in October 2009.
The 21-year-old murder suspect claimed he was not competent to stand trial but a report admitted to the court said that Martinez is competent.
A pre-trial hearing will be held on June 9th.
Martinez's trial is scheduled to start on June 20th.
