Authorities have released the name of a 20-year-old woman found shot to death inside her apartment Friday night.
Jolissa Rangel was found inside her apartment located on the 2400 block of Kimberly Lane in Edinburg with a gunshot wound.
Lt. Trevino with the Edinburg Police Department said the incident is still being investigated as a homicide.
Authorities arrived at the crime scene just before 9:30 p.m. on Friday, after receiving several calls about shots being fired.
When they approached the scene, they noticed one of the apartment doors slightly open.
Authorities told Action 4 News no one was home at the time of the deadly shooting.
Rangel lived with her 2-year-old son and her sister.
Currently, the Edinburg Police Department is following up on leads, but they are asking for the public TMs help at this time.
No suspects have been arrested in the case.
