Native plants are getting a boost south of the border.
Several American and Mexican agencies gathered to visit the Nature Conservancy's Lennox Foundation Southmost Preserve in Harlingen on Thursday.
The Mexican visitors have been in the United States over the past few days to learn about how important native plants can be to the preservation of habitat.
Currently, few if any native plant nurseries like the Lennox Foundation exist in Mexico.
Mexico's goal is to take back what the United States is doing with native plants to try and restore some of their heavily-used agricultural lands.
