A Brownsville man already in custody for a child sex crime is facing a new round of charges.

Brownsville police believe 48-year-old Manuel Galindo sexually assaulted a girl under the age of 10 on at least three different occasions.

Officers charged Galindo for aggravated sexual assault of a child about two weeks ago.

Galindo has been in custody at the Cameron County Jail since that time.

But investigators added a second charge of continuous sexual assault of a child on Thursday.

Brownsville Police Department spokesman J.J. Trevio spoke to Action 4 News about the investigation.

"She made an outcry which the complainant filed a report at that time, Trevio said. This man was eventually arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault. He was already in county jail and another charge was added to his case..."

Galindo remains in custody at the Cameron County Jail where his bond is set at $300,000 dollars.
