Authorities have confirmed that nine bodies were found hung from a bridge in the embattled border city of Nuevo Laredo on Friday morning.
A Tamaulipas official told the Associated Press that the bodies are the latest victims in the ongoing drug cartel violence in the city.
The Tamaulipas state official spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to provide the information.
No suspects have been identified or arrested for the bodies left hanging from the brdige but the case remains under investigation.
Nuevo Laredo is a strategic smuggling city located across the Rio Grande River from Laredo, Texas.
The city has been torn apart by an ongoing war between the Zetas drug and the Sinaloa Cartel.
Fourteen mutilated bodies were found in a vehicle left in the city center last month.
In photos sent to Blog del Narco, the Sinaloa Cartel took responsibility for the decapitations.
