No bond for Brownsville businessman in child porn case

      Robert L. Hedrick Mugshot

A federal judge has denied bond for a Brownsville businessman accused in a child pornography case.

U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested Pan American Airways owner Robert L. Hedrick on Monday.

The 60-year-old businessman made his initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Court Judge Felix Recio in Brownsville on Tuesday morning.

Judge Recio denied bond for Hedrick until a Friday morning hearing.

A criminal complaint filed in the case shows that undercover detectives from Wisconsin and Louisiana posed as underage girls in Yahoo! chatrooms.

Hedrick allegedly used a screen name and a fake name where he allegedly sent images containing child pornography to the undercover detectives.

Authorities allegedly traced the account back to Hedrick.
