Several suspects on the loose after an officer-involved shooting in San Benito.

San Benito Det. Rogelio Banda told Action 4 News that a police officer was called out to a disturbance on East Frances and McCullough Streets on Wednesday evening.

When the officer arrived, the suspects apparently did not comply.

Full details were not immediately available but the incident ended with the officer firing his weapon.

There are no injuries reported right now, but the suspects got away in a green Chevrolet Suburban, which was last seen headed towards Brownsville.

The officer has been placed on administrative leave with pay pending an investigation.

Witnesses heard the gunfire at a nearby baseball field.

Action 4 News will provide more information as it becomes available.
