Officers at the Pharr bridge found nearly 13 kilograms of cocaine hidden in a Jeep Compass on Friday.

Diana Sandoval Vega arrived at the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge on Friday driving a silver 2012 Jeep Compass with Texas license plates.

"VEGA was selected for secondary inspection based on a call from an anonymous caller describing the vehicle VEGA was driving as being used to smuggle narcotics into the United States," according to the criminal complaint against her.

When officers searched the Jeep, they found nearly 13 kilograms of cocaine hidden in the floorboard, according to the criminal complaint.

Vega is charged with attempting to import cocaine and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

Court records don't list an attorney for Vega, who couldn't be reached for comment.
