One person dead after vehicle accident near Edinburg

Man dead after crashing into a tree north of Hargill

The Department of Public Safety is investigating a man TMs death after he apparently crashed through a fence and into a tree north of Hargill.

Troopers said it happened around 10 p.m. Tuesday as the driver of a black Chevy Corvette disregarded the stop sign at the intersection of 493 and 186 and wrecked.

Authorities said the posted speed limit in the area is 55 miles per hour and are still investigating what caused the driver to lose control.

The man is now being identified as Salome Cardona, Jr. out of Hargill.

He was pronounced dead at the scene
