One vote decides election

While the Rio Grande Valley saw thousands of people hit the polls on election day, another Texas town didn't.

A school board election in Lytle, Texas, was decided by one vote.

It was the only vote.

The San Antonio Express-News reports that Christina Mercado won her race as District 1 Representative on the school district by collecting the only vote cast in Saturday's election.

The district is 25 miles southwest of San Antonio and serves about 1,700 students on four campuses. \
