Customs and Border Protection

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers seized $1,155,000 worth of drugs on Thursday.

Two men were arrested at the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge on two different attempts to smuggle cocaine and methamphetamine.

During the first attempt, a 27-year-old Mexican citizen with a crossing card was sent to a CBP secondary inspection.

Officers found 12 packages of cocaine inside his Nissan Altima. They said the packages have an estimated street value of $959,000.

A couple hours later, a 23-year-old was attempting to cross the bridge but was sent to a secondary inspection.

CBP officers found six packages of methamphetamine with a street value of $196,000.

Both men were taken into custody and released to Homeland Security Investigations for further investigation.
