A Palm Valley man is behind bars after he pointed a loaded gun at his brother during a heated argument.

Palm Valley police arrested 59-year-old James Don Hollon on an aggravated assault family violence charge on Saturday.

Officers were called to his family's home off Bobby Jones Drive around noon Saturday.

Palm Valley Police Chief Alvaro Garcia told Action 4 News that the incident happened in Hollon's bedroom.

Hollon's brother was visiting from out of town and got into an argument with him.

Chief Garcia said Hollon had been drinking alcohol and responded by pulling out a loaded gun and cocking the hammer as if he was going to fire.

According to Chief Garcia, Hollon's brother left the room and called police.

Hollan remains in the Cameron County Jail under a $20,000 dollar bond.
