Authorities are investigating what caused a small plane to crash in a farm field just southwest of Raymondville.
It all happened on FM 490 just west of Business 77 around 12:00 p.m. Friday.
A small Cessna 172M went down in the farm field.
Paramedics rushed the pilot to the Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen for treatment of minor injuries.
Investigators report the pilot was the only person aboard the private plane at the time of the accident.
Investigators believe the pilot was trying to land at a nearby airfield at the time of the crash.
Federal Aviation Administration records show that the plane is owned by Cesar Hernandez of Raymondville.
