Mexican authorities are investigating a PEMEX pipeline explosion that shot huge flames into the sky on a highway between Reynosa and Monterrey.
It all happened near the City of General Bravo, Nuevo Leon around 11 a.m. Monday.
Authorities used Twitter to report that the explosion took place near the Kilometer 140 marker of the northbound lanes of the Monterrey-Reynosa highway.
One person was reported as wounded.
Dozens of passersby snapped photographs and posted them to Twitter.
The exact cause of the explosions was not immediately known.
But authorities told reporters that they do not believe the explosion was caused by illegal siphoning but rather an engineering issue.
