Police: 23-year-old Edcouch man killed in car crash
A 23-year-old Edcouch man died Saturday after a car crash on U.S. 281 near the Trenton Road exit.
At about 12:20 a.m. Saturday, the driver of a black pickup truck lost control of his vehicle — causing the truck to roll over at least once, according to information provided by Assistant Chief Oscar Trevino, a spokesman for the Edinburg Police Department.
Two passengers in the truck — John Michael Salazar, 23, of Edcouch and a woman — were ejected from the vehicle. Salazar died at the scene.
The woman suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The driver, through, didn't sustain any injuries, according to Trevino. Officers arrested him on suspicion of intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.
Correction: This article has been updated to correct the color of the truck. The pickup truck was black, not red.
