Police: 50-year-old McAllen man admits to inappropriately touching two girls
A 50-year-old McAllen man faces felony and misdemeanor charges after admitting to inappropriately touching two girls, according to a criminal complaint.
Police responded to a local elementary school on May 2, regarding an alleged child abuse victim.
Upon arrival, police met with a girl who told them she was sexually abused by Benigno Ontiveros De La Rosa at his home on April 14.
When police interviewed De La Rosa, he admitted to inappropriately touching the girl every weekend for more than a year, inappropriately touching another girl once, and showing pornographic videos on his phone to both girls, according to the criminal complaint.
De La Rosa was charged with continuous sexual abuse of a young child or children, a first-degree felony; two counts of indecency with a child, a second-degree felony; and two counts of displaying harmful material to a minor, a Class A misdemeanor.
A judge set bond at $340,000, according to the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office.
De La Rosa remains in the Hidalgo County jail and couldn’t be reached for comment.
