Police chase ensues after man steals shrimp from fridge
A man is behind bars after stealing seafood from a home refrigerator and crashing into a car, according to documents obtained by Action 4 News.
Santiago Alvaro Cisneros Jr. was arrested after he allegedly broke a window at a Laguna Heights home and stole bags full of shrimp.
The 80 pounds of shrimp was valued at approximately $500, according to the documents.
Authorities were tipped off about a blue Chevrolet Tahoe at the scene.
A deputy then allegedly struggled with Cisneros after he refused to be arrested.
Cisneros punched the deputy several times on the shoulder area and took off in his Tahoe, according to court documents.
During the pursuit, Cisneros allegedly crashed into a car on Highway 100 and kept driving.
Cisneros then stopped near an alley in Port Isabel where he took off on foot, according to court documents.
After an alleged struggle, Port Isabel Police and Cameron County Constables were able to arrest Cisneros.
He was booked on counts of aggravated assault on a public servant, burglary of a habitation, evading arrest or detention using a vehicle, resisting arrest, and evading arrest or detention on foot.
Cisneros was booked at Cameron County Jail, and his bond was set at $180,000.
