Police: DWI driver leaves behind "trail of destruction" in Mission

A woman is behind bars in Mission after allegedly driving drunk and leaving behind a "trail of destruction" in a series of early morning accidents.

Mission police arrested the woman on multiple criminal charges off FM 495 and inspiration Road early Tuesday morning.

Investigators told Action 4 News that it all started when the woman crashed her car into another vehicle off Adams Street and Business 83 around 12 a.m. Tuesday.

The woman driver fled the scene leading police on a chase where she crashed into mailboxes and fences leaving what investigators called a "trail of destruction" down Pea Street.

Investigators said the woman only stopped when her car broke down but she allegedly appeared intoxicated and put up a fight when officers tried to arrest her.

Paramedics took the woman to a local hospital for evaluation.

She's now expected to face DWI, hit and run, fleeing the scene of an accident, evading arrest and other charges.
