A former employee of Home Depot is now behind bars after being accused of making false transactions and keeping the cash.

Anne Lorraine Cortez was arrested on a charge of theft earlier this week.

Harlingen Police Department was contacted and told that Cortez had taken money on three occasions.

It was discovered Home Depot sustained a loss of $820 as a result of the false transactions, according to police.

Authorities said Cortez would void items and then keep cash.

She was arrested when she turned herself in to Harlingen police.

Her bond was set at $1,500 for the Class A misdemeanor.
