Police look for 'Stripes stabbing' suspect

A man terrorizes two convenient store clerks.

According to reports, an unidentified Hispanic male walked into a Stripes store located on the 1300 block of Haverford Boulevard in Harlingen armed with a knife.

Police said suspect began threating the two clerks with the knife and began demanding cash.

One clerk jump over the sales counter at Stripes while another male clerk approached the knife-wielding man.

One clerk was stabbed once in his left arm.

Police said the suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, and was last seen running towards Walmart in Harlingen.

Investigators believe the suspect knew the cameras were in the store, because he positioned himself away fromt he camera.

The Harlingen Police Department is asking that if anyone has any information on the identity of the male or any other crime, please call the Harlingen Area Crime Stoppers at 425-TIPS (8477).
