      Police: Man left children home alone to go harass ex-wife

      A Southmost father is behind bars after he allegedly left his two young children home alone in order to go and harass his ex-wife.

      Brownsville police arrested 44-year-old Eduardo Gonzalez on two counts of child abandonment over the weekend.

      Investigators told Action 4 News that officers were called to a disturbance on San Eugenio Street.

      A woman told police that her ex-husband Gonzalez came over the the house to harass her but he was supposed to have custody of their children.

      Officers went to Gonzalez's Calle Milpa Verde home where they found the couple's 3-year-old and 5-year-old children asleep and alone.

      Gonzalez appeared before a Brownsville Municipal Court judge where he was issued $15,000 in bonds.
