Police: 19-year-old man dies after one-car crash in Harlingen

A 19-year-old man died Wednesday morning after a car crash in Harlingen.
Police responded to the 1300 block of South Commerce St. at about 5:45 a.m. Preliminary investigation reveals a Dodge Challenger struck a light pole and traffic control device.
Police found a 19-year-old man inside the vehicle with a serious head injury. He later died at the hospital.
According to the news release:
"During the course of the investigation, the driver of the vehicle who had left the scene was identified and charges are pending."
Police are withholding the identity of the 19-year-old man pending notification of next of kin.
