      Police on three hour standoff with suicidal man

      Alamo Police Department responds

      An intoxicated man was threatening to take his own life for three hours, according to Alamo police.

      Neighbors said he drove his car through the neighborhood, ran over a mail box, crashed into a car, and went through multiple neighboring yards.

      Airbags in his red pickup were deployed due to the impact.

      The incident started around 2:00 p.m. on the 400 block of cripple creek circle.

      Alamo police stormed into the house and pinned the man to the ground.

      Authorities said he was using a knife to cut around his neck area.

      He was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
