Original Story: The Harlingen Police Department dispatched heavily armed officers to the 900 block of South Palm Court Drive on Monday.
Officers responded after an elderly man apparently made threatening comments toward emergency medical services workers, said Cmdr. John Parrish, a spokesman for the department.
After the man refused to come outside, officers established a perimeter and called a negotiator to help resolve the situation, Parrish said, adding that police haven't confirmed whether or not the elderly man is armed.
