Police search for armed suspect who fled from scene of murder

Authorities are searching for a suspect who is considered armed and dangerous after being accused of killing another man.

The incident happened on Friday night on South Eagle Street in Roma.

The Roma Police Department responded to the scene, and the victim was transported to a local hospital in Starr County.

Joel Alejandrez is wanted in connection to the murder, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

A total of 10 rounds were fired, and one of them killed the victim of the shooting, authorities said.

Police believe the 18-year-old suspect is armed with a 9mm handgun and could be driving a four door Red Chevy Sonic with dark tint.

Police are currently investigating the crime at this time and following up on possible leads.

Authorities said it is not clear what motivated the shooting, but they believe the victim and the suspect had a verbal argument.

The victim is in his 20s, and he died at McAllen Medical Center.
