A man and woman were arrested for their part in a stabbing that sent one man to a hospital, according to the Harlingen Police Department.
Frances Estrella used a knife to stab a man on the back of his head, resulting in a deep cut, authorities said.
The incident happened on the 2700 block of Los Amigos Drive in Harlingen around 2:14 a.m. on Sunday.
The 41-year-old woman was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and tampering with evidence.
Through the investigation, Harlingen police discovered that her son allegedly cleaned up the blood from the scene and washed the knife.
Damien Michael Leal, 19, washed the knife to conceal that it was used in the stabbing, according to authorities.
Leal was booked on a charge of tampering with evidence, a third degree felony.
The mother and son have not yet been arraigned for the felony charges.
