      Police: Wallet thief now behind bars after Action 4 News report

      An Action 4 News report led to the arrest of a man who stole a wallet inside the Harlingen Walmart.

      Harlingen police arrested Ruben Arcaute Jr. Thursday after he allegedly stole the victim TMs wallet from a check out register and the shopping center on 1801 W. Lincoln Avenue.

      The woman spoke with Action 4 News saying, My life was practically in that wallet.

      Police said the Harlingen Crime Stoppers received a call about Arcaurte after surveillance photos were released of the suspect.

      Detectives found the Dodge Ram pickup that was shown in the photos on the 1200 block if West Monroe Avenue.

      Authorities arrested the 47-year-old on theft and credit, debit card abuse charges.

      A total bond of $22,000 was set for the Harlingen resident.
