Miguel Angel Aguilera was sentenced to 33 years in prison after being found guilty for aggravated sexual assault of a child, who was under the age of six.
A judge on the 138th state District Court sentenced Aguilera Monday.
Since the victim was under the age of six during the time of the assault, the 22-year-old has no possibility of parole or early release.
A jury found the Port Isabel resident guilty of aggravated sexual assault of a child, Friday.
Cameron County Assistant District Attorneys Stephanie Rollins and Brandy Bailey, members of District Attorney Luis V. Saenz Child Abuse Unit, prosecuted the case.
Still, the number of years a child sex predator serves behind bars will never equal to the lifetime of pain a victim endures, Saenz said in a statement.
The assault happened in December 2012.
