"Predatory skateboarder" captured in California

A skateboarder who Harlingen police called a "child predator" has been captured in California where he is facing extradition back to the Rio Grande Valley.

Harlingen police report that 23-year-old Richard Lee Garcia was captured at a Greyhound bus station in Tulare, California early Thursday afternoon.

Garcia is wanted on indecency with a child charges in Harlingen.

Investigators said the skateboarder goes by the nickname "Leebra" and is accused of befriending children ages 13 to 14 years of age and then molesting them.

Harlingen police said tips led them on the trail of Garcia who left the Valley and fled to California.

Garcia is in custody at the Tulare County Jail where he is facing extradition back to Harlingen.
