The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office have released the preliminary autopsy report for slain singer Chuy Quintanilla.
The Norteo singer was found murdered in an orchard north of Mission early Thursday morning.
Preliminary autopsy results show that Quintanilla died from gunshots wounds to his head and neck.
Deputies are ruling his death a homicide.
Quintanilla's daughter told Action 4 News on Thursday that he was last seen when he left his Palmview home around 8 p.m. Wednesday.
His family reported him missing early Thursday morning, just one hour after authorities found Quintanilla dead.
Action 4 News spoke to neighbors who are fearful to go on camera, but did say he was a nice man and there were no signs that he was in any kind of trouble.
Authorities are releasing few details on the investigation to the murder of Quintanilla at this time.
But Hidalco County Sheriff Lupe Trevio said deputies have interviewed many people regarding the ongoing murder investigation.
Quintanilla's funeral is scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
