Preliminary autopsy results released in Harlingen murder
Authorities have released preliminary autopsy results in the death of a woman who was caught in the crossfire of a shooting in a west Harlingen neighborhood.
Preliminary autopsy results show that 21-year-old Mayra Bianey Oyervides died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Cameron County Pct. 3-1 Justice of the Peace Manuel Flores listed her time of death as 6:49 p.m. Monday.
Harlingen police reported that Oyervides was caught in the crossfire of a shooting off Wright and South G Streets around 6 p.m. Monday.
Investigators arrested 27-year-old Los Fresnos woman Dorothy Lee Sanchez as the getaway driver but two unidentified men remain wanted as suspects.
Family members told Action 4 News that Oyervides was engaged and pregnant.
But autopsy results show that medical tests showed she was not pregnant at the time of her death.
Action 4 News spoke to family members who said her parents and fiance were at the Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen as well as planning her funeral.
