A patient is behind bars after a pharmacist did not fill a Xanax prescription she tried to fill.
Authorities arrested Claudia Juliana Garcia on a charge of fraud under the Texas Health and Safety Code, which is a 3rd degree felony.
An affidavit for arrest warrant obtained by Action 4 News alleges Garcia took two different prescriptions with different handwriting to the pharmacy at H-E-B.
The pharmacist could only fill one prescription, and the pharmacist knew that the two prescriptions were basically the same medications.
Authorities contacted the pharmacy, H-E-B store and the doctor's office to gather information on the alleged crime.
An arrest warrant was then issued for Garcia's arrest.
The Los Fresnos woman was arrested and booked at the Cameron County Jail.
Garcia's bond was set at $10,000.
