A Primera man is behind bars after being accused of sexually abusing a little girl for at least two years time.
Cameron County Sheriff TMs Department deputies arrested 31-year-old Abel Isaac Longinos on Friday.
Court records released late Monday show he TMs accused of sexually abusing a girl when she was six to eight years old.
The alleged abuse happened at a home in the Las Palmas-Juarez subdivision outside Harlingen between 2005 and 2007.
But the girl came forward with the allegations about two weeks ago.
Deputies arrested Longinos on Friday and charged him with continuous sexual abuse of a minor.
Action 4 News does not identify victims of sexual abuse but records show that Longinos knew the girl through her mother.
The girl told police that Longinos threatened to hurt her if she told anyone about what happened.
The Primera man appeared before Cameron County Judge Patricia Edelstein on Saturday morning where he was issued a $150,000 dollar bond.
Court records show that Longinos has a criminal history going back to 2000 that includes criminal mischief, burglary, marijuana and family violence.
Longinos remains in custody at the Cameron County Jail.
If convicted on the sexual abuse charge, Longinos could face five to 99 years in prison and/or a $10,000 dollar fine.
