A Primera man is behind bars after being arrested in connection to an ongoing child pornography investigation.
U.S. Homeland Security Investigation (HSI) agents arrested 32-year-old Samuel Leo Gonzalez on Wednesday.
Court records released on Thursday who that HSI agents search his home on Wednesday.
Agents reported finding 5,000 images of child porn his desktop computer.
Investigators believe Gonzalez downloaded the images using the eMule peer-to-peer network.
Gonzalez spent the night in the Brownsville City Jail and appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Felix Recio on Thursday morning.
Records show that Gonzalez's last known address was listed at a home off the 15700 block of Primera Road and that he previously served nine months probation for marijuana back in 2002.
Judge Recio denied bond for Gonzalez until a Tuesday afternoon hearing.
