Rain headed to the RGV for Mother's Day weekend

Makes plans to spend time indoors this Mother TMs Day with a good chance of rain in the forecast for the holiday weekend.
As temperatures heat up Friday, thunderstorms may develop in the Sierra Madre mountains west of the RGV and some of those storms may make their way to western portions of the Rio Grande Valley.
On Saturday, the tail end of a cold front will sweep through South Texas bringing widespread showers to the region for Saturday and Sunday.
Thunderstorms, heavy rain and hail are all possible.
With low pressure over South Texas, the chance for showers is expected to extend through the middle of next week.
With overcast skies, temperatures will be below normal with highs in the low to mid 80 TMs and lows in the low 70 TMs.
